Carriage houses are regarded as the houses that were separated from the garages. The name carriage houses, was derived from the parking areas of the large mansions where the vehicles were parked. The houses are designed with a living area above them. Carriage houses plans can accommodate two or three cars, which have one bedroom and bathroom above them.
The structures are separated with a garage that can accommodate three cars. The bedrooms are spacious and in some parts it is known as “granny flat”. The unique features of this apartment are big windows and spacious decks. The first floor can accommodate three cars, leaving a space for the workshop. The lower floor is often used as a living room that can be used for the recreation purpose. The layout dimensions of this plan are: Main floor1,029 sq.ft., living area1,029 sq.ft, attached garage: space for three cars, 781 sq. ft., full bedrooms: 1, depth: 30′, width: 39’2″, exterior walls 2×4 and maximum ridge height: 29′ 2″.
Occupying the upper space with two bedrooms this three car carrier house plan does a double job. The architecture of these houses is a blend of craft and art that are supported by the strong columns of stone. The houses have attached staircase from the garage which lead to the guest suite that include two bedrooms and a spacious dining/ living area. The kitchens are well equipped and the bedrooms get a grand view from the large window wall. Dimensions of this plan are: main floor: n/a, living area: 908 sq.ft, second floor: 908 sq.ft, detached garage: 1,079 sq.ft, full bathrooms: 1, depth: 33′, exterior walls: 2×6, width: 41′ and maximum ridge height: 26′.
This carriage plan can accommodate two cars and are spacious enough to accommodate a family. The main floor of the second level includes the living room, dining hall and a well- equipped kitchen. All these rooms have an access from one room to the other thus making the area look bigger. The master suite includes a two cabinets and a private bedroom. It is also structured with an area for one more bedroom and a spacious bedroom thus making the carriage plan complete.
The carriage plan houses offer a wide variety to set up the house as per the requirements of the individual. Different plans which are designed according to the availability of the area are tailored to give the best value for your money.
Many carriage house plans are built with a staircase from the exterior of the house which makes a way to the upper floor of the plan. The staircase ends into an airy living room and a welcoming kitchen. The area also includes a big bedroom with a walking wardrobe and a spacious bathroom. The lower level of the plan includes a garage which can be modified into a office or a studio.
