How does a Clydesdale do in hot, jungle climate?
I am in love with the Clydesdale breed and would like to keep one at the stable in Thailand. However, due to the hot weather (35-40 Celsius or 95-104 Farenheit) and humid climate in Thailand, I am not sure if this furry draft horse, originated from freezing weather in Scotland, will be comfortable. I can get the air-conditioner room for him if it’s too hot. But there can be other problems in riding such as puffing…which happened to my Thoroughbred before.What I am more concern is the skin disease and etc.
I’d appreciate any suggestions/comments. So I know if I should continue planning to buy a Clydesdale, or look for other horses that suits Thailand weather better.

As long as you take care of him and treat skin conditions and anything he may develop, it should be fine. Horses adapt… people keep Arabs in freezing climates all the time. They do just fine as long as you take care of them and let them develop a proper coat.
In the heat, the Clydesdale should have a much more thin and sleek coat from the adaptation. If you just allow him to adjust and take care of him, things should be fine.
All mammals can adapt… I live in a (moderately) warm climate, at least in the summer time. I have a Siberian Husky, with a thick fur coat. She sheds out in the summer, and as long as I provide proper care she does just fine, because she adapts.
Now if this were a lizard or something cold blooded and unable to adapt to varying climates, and you were trying to remove it from its regular climate, you would have problems. But with mammals you should be just fine.

CLYDESDALE HOUSE (STUDENTS ONLY) $350 STUDENTS ONLY – Clydesdale House is in the Northern Quarter of the city its 4 storey warehouse conversion and provides select modern accommodation for 62 students in single, furnished bedrooms, each with electric wall heaters and en-suite shower/wc. There are 16 larger than average size bedrooms on 4 floors. Each floor is split into two with each half having its own fully equipped kitchen, lounge/diner with TV. Therefore it is ideal either for single students or groups of students wanting to reside together as each half floor is self contained with its own security lock system. There is a coin operated launderette on the 4th floor. There are telephone sockets in each room and a line can be connected on request. Internet Cyberware wireless network, which is not included in the rent. A night porter occupies the front entrance hall for added protection and security.
